Course Outline and Method
トポロジー（位相幾何学）の入門として、閉曲面の分類定理を証明する。図形について色々考えてみることが目的であり、これによって何かしら数学の実用的な知識が身につくということはない。
Student Attainment Objectives
数学とは公式を覚えて意味もわからず要領よく数式を計算して答を求める技法という、広く流布している認識とは対極の世界があることを学生が学び、対象について学生が自分の頭で粘り強く考えられるようになること。考えることが嫌いな学生、何事も短時間で要領よくこなす事が大事であり、悶々と考える事が時間の無駄だと信じている学生には、この講座はお勧めできない。

Class Format
新型コロナの感染状況によりオンライン授業をせざるを得ない状況になった場合を除き、原則として対面授業で行う。
Recommendations for Private Study
講義を聞き流して、それ以外は何もしないというのは当然駄目である。講義は考えるためのヒント、きっかけを与えているに過ぎないので、講義を聞いた後、通学途中やバイトの合間などにでも、疑問に思うことや、他にもこんな事が考えられるのではないか？といった事を、あれこれ考えてみることが強く推奨される。
