Course Outline and Method

現代の民主主義国家では、政治家は「世論（よろん）」を気にしながら立法し、政策を遂行している。それは「世論」こそが「国民の声」であり、国民の声に従うことが民主主義の正しい姿だと考えられているからだ。だが、世論は常に正しいのだろうか。世論とは、そんなにも信頼に足るものなのだろうか。この授業では、佐藤卓己著『輿論と世論ー日本的民意の系譜学』（新潮選書）2008年ーーーを精読することで、日本の「世論」なるものの正体について考えたい。

Student Attainment Objectives

1.「公的意見＝輿論」と「世間の空気＝世論」の違いを説明できる。
2, メディア、世論、民主主義------の3者の関係について説明できる。
3. 戦後日本の「世論」の特質を説明できる。

1	ガイダンスと授業の狙い
1	教員・学生の自己紹介授業の狙い、成績評価の仕方、到達目標などについての概説
2～15	『輿論と世論ー日本的民意の系譜学』の精読
2～15	授業は毎回次の要領で実施する。　①教員は教科書の内容に即した映像を学生に視聴させたり、内容に関連する事柄についてレクチャーする。　②そのうえで学生に教科書内の特定の箇所を次回授業までに読んでくるよう指示し、同時に簡単な課題を解かせる。　③教員は学生が提出した課題について採点し、学生の理解が不十分と感じた個所について補足的に説明する。そのうえで、再び教科書内の別の箇所に関連した事柄について映像を視聴させたり解説を施し、学生に教科書内の特定の箇所を次回授業までに読んでくるよう指示し、同時に簡単な課題を解かせる。　この①～③のプロセスを繰り返す

Class Format

全ての授業において原則として教室ての対面授業とする。

Recommendations for Private Study

1. 毎日5分間でよいので、一日一回テレビでニュースを見る習慣をつけること。
2. 毎日15分くらいは、ウエブ版でよいので新聞を読む習慣をつけること。
