Course Outline and Method
In the globalised society, we have many opportunities to encounter a diversity of languages and cultures. We have a lot of chances to think about ourselves and others from multiple perspectives. In this course, with a focus on the gender perspective, students will learn about the basics of how people from different cultures perceive themselves and others. In particular, we will examine how our self-perceptions can be transformed in the process of learning other languages through cross-cultural mobility, such as studying abroad.
Student Attainment Objectives
1. Acquire the ability to see things from different perspectives
2. Learn how to think critically
3. Argue for one's own ideas on the basis of reliable evidence
4. Develop the ability to think actively, rather than passively, and to discuss issues with others
