In EIS IV, students engage in an active learning process through an integrated approach to the four skills using materials related to international relations with particular focus on language output skills in a multicultural context. They will learn academic writing skills with APA style and write literature reviews, research proposals, reports and papers. Formative evaluation is performed through in-class writings and two or more of the above documents, based on a rubric that targets writing skills.

Student Attainment Objectives

1) Students will learn about discourse structure, conventional academic report design, citations and references, paraphrasing, quotations, and academic honesty.
2) Students will learn about different academic writing styles and writing to different audiences using the APA format.
3) Students will be able to summarize facts and arguments related to International Society and write reports after researching the issues.
While this course emphasizes writing skills, students will develop all four skills in English
