Course Outline and Method

本講義においては、『ノッティングヒルの恋人』という作品をとりあげ、コミュニケーション力を高めていく。英語特有の言い回しとそれを使う状況をセットで覚え、セルフをチャンクごとに感情をこめて表現する。英語を字幕なしでも聞き取れるように、発音と複雑な発音の変化を学び、何度も練習する。そして、アメリカ英語とイギリス英語の違いにも注目する。後半には、ドラマや映画において作品の舞台となった土地の言葉がどのように再現されているのかについて、学生自身が考察をして発表する。このように、英語映画を通して、決まりきった枠組みを超えた新しい言語表現を理解し模索してゆくことを目的とする。

１．映像作品の英文スクリプトの解釈を自ら、或は、クラスメートと共に構築することができる。
２．英文スクリプトに関する自らの解釈をパフォーマンスにより具体的に表現することができる。
３．ドラマや映画において、目的をもって方言やアクセントが用いられていることを理解する。
