Course Outline and Method

　生命倫理問題に関する米国の判例および関係論文を読む。
　尊厳死、中絶、過誤出産などの問題に関するケースは多数に上るが、今年度は尊厳死と妊娠中絶の問題に限定して主要な文献を講読し、倫理問題の所在と問題解決に向けた法の役割について考察する。
　授業は、講読資料について予め分担担当を決め、担当者の読解を確認検討する形で進める。毎週、翌週講読予定範囲に関する設問課題を出す。履修には、毎週の課題、資料読解分担、および期末試験の受験を必須とする。提出された設問回答についてはその都度授業の中で検討する。
（下記授業計画は各回仮置き。進度は受講者の読解力による。）

Student Attainment Objectives

・米国の裁判例および研究論文を読み、内容を正確に把握できるよう読解力を高める。
・裁判例の講読を通して、アメリカ法およびアメリカ司法について一定の知識を得ることができる。
・テーマが普遍的な生命倫理問題であるので、アメリカ法の特殊性から、人間の生と死に関わる普遍的倫理問題の深層とそれに対する法の役割について、理解を深めることができる。
