Course Outline and Method

概要：本科目では、洋楽を教材として用いながら、英語の音声に慣れ親しむことを目指す。特にリスニング力の向上および正確な発音・リズムの習得を主な目標とするが、そのためには歌詞に含まれる語彙と文法を正確に理解・暗記することが不可欠なため、歌詞に関する学習と小テストも適宜行う。また、扱う曲の背後にある文化的・時代的背景の考察も行いたい。最終的に歌詞を見なくても歌えるようになることが重要な目標なので、必ず何度も実際に声を出して歌う練習を行うこと。

この授業は、ライブ配信およびオンデマンド型を組み合わせて実施する。オンデマンド型においては、主に歌詞の私訳や曲に関するクイズなどの課題が出される。提出された課題に対する受講生からの質問や教員の解説、掲示板への投稿などを通じて、同時性と双方向性を確保する。

Student Attainment Objectives

1．全体目標として、授業で扱う洋楽のいくつかを暗記し、感情移入しながら歌えるように
     なること。
2．そのための具体的目標として、a. 歌詞の意味を正確に理解すること。歌詞に含まれる語彙は
     もちろん、特別な文法項目や言い回しも正しく理解すること、b. 理解した歌詞を正確な発音
     およびリズムで発声できるようになること。
3．授業で扱った曲や歌手、英語特有の言い回しやリズムに親しみを持つことで、これをさらなる
     英語学習につなげてゆくこと。

・この授業は全15回のうち、8回をライブ配信、7回をオンデマンド型で実施する。

Recommendations for Private Study

授業外での課題については授業内で指示する。主に曲に関するクイズのための復習（歌詞の暗記、語彙・文法理解等）や、YouTubeなどを見ながら歌う練習等を課題とする。
