Before the field study, we use mainly Japanese.
But during your stay in Thailand, you must use English.
After the field survey, you must present your findings in English with Thai and other international students including Lao students at NIDA.
You can write final report in Japanese or English.

Course Outline and Method

We have 5 lectures before visiting Thailand.
This is mainly in Japanese, but it including English presentation practices as well.

In our field, we will formulate joint team, 6 to 8 students including Thai and Lao students.
Our main targets are local communities, around our partners, NIDA and Khon Kaen University (KKU).

We will visit JICA projects as well.

Finally, we will present our findings in English to the students in KKU including international students from Indonesia and other overseas.

After returning to Japan, we will finalize our Field Reports in Japanese.

Student Attainment Objectives

Students are expected to gain the followings:

3. Skills of the presentations

Overview of fieldwork and introduction of past cases (Kurokawa).

An introduction to fieldwork in Thailand, which has a history of over 20 years.
In particular, the implementation status before the coronavirus in 2019 and the implementation status in August 2022;

No.1 to No.5 are Face to Face basis for field work preparations.
After returning to Japan,
No.6 and No.7 are mainly group work for finalization of the report.

７．タイ東部臨海工業地域計画
