Course Outline and Method
この授業では、学問的に正確な釈尊伝を読みながら、その内容について受講者と討論します。その際には、歴史上の釈尊以後に展開した大乗仏教の知見も参照します。またキリスト教との比較思想も試みます。さらに釈尊伝を多角的かつ批判的に理解するために、立場の異なるゲストスピーカーを招聘して、理解を深めていきます。 この授業では、毎回、テクストの指定の箇所を読み進めます。参加者は事前に必ず当該箇所を予習しておいてください。わかりにくいところも諦めずに何度も読んでおいてください。このようにテクストを正確に読み進めつつも、授業では参加者の討論に重きを置くつもりです。討論では、すべての参加者に何らかの発言を求めます。授業中に発言することで、授業に参加している（＝出席している）ものと見なします。そのためにはテクストを読み込んでおくことが大切です。なおテクストは初回の授業から少しずつ読み始めます。 初回の授業で読む箇所については、あらかじめManaba＋Ｒで指示します。その後の授業計画は議論の進展や受講者の希望によって変更することがあります。その場合には、授業で指示します。また授業で使用するテクストのうち教科書として指定したもの以外はプリント配布します。具体的には、授業で説明します。
