授業の概要と方法

Drawing upon theoretical models and empirical findings in applied linguistics, this course provides students with opportunities to increase their understanding of how utterances are processed and interpreted, and of how co-construction of meaning is achieved. Some of the classes will be media-based; students will be instructed to log in to the designated website during the class time, watch the presentations online, and give feedback to peers' presentations. This course will follow the university's policies regarding the COVID-19 countermeasures. Students are to attend the face-to-face classes unless special considerations in classes are requested.

受講生の到達目標

1. To gain understanding of various aspects of communication and how they are studied.
2. To (re-)evaluate their own use and acquisition of their first and second language.
3. To be a conscious user of the language(s) in co-constructing shared meaning.
