Course Outline and Method

都市計画分野の洋書テキストを用いて都市デザインの成り立ちを学び多角的視点を得る。
・講義では全員で洋書テキストの理解を確認しつつ進める。そのため必ず事前に指定範囲の洋書テキストを読解しておくこと。
・積極的な議論への参加を評価する。
・使用するテキストは英語であるが，講義および議論は日本語で行う。

・都市空間，都市デザイン，思想を通して物の見方を変える視点を身に付ける。
・建築や都市計画に関する専門用語を学び，英語文献の読解力を身につける。
・毎回の議論を通して論理的思考を養う。

Advice to Students on Study and Research Methods

　普段私たちが何気なく暮らしている“都市”に焦点を当て，建築家・都市デザイナーであるヤン・ゲールの理論と実践から，まちの形成とそれに関わる思想，理念を知り，物の見方を変えることによって多角的視点を得ることをこの講義の目的としている。
　講義で使用する教科書は，とても読みやすく，これまで建築学や都市計画学を学んだことのない人でも理解しやすい内容である。都市に限らず，物の見方を変えることで深い考えを得ることができ，様々な問題をどのように解決していくのか，その手立てを得ることができると考えられる。
　疑問に思ったこと，興味を持った箇所，理解できなかった部分など，様々な意見を取り上げ活発な議論ができることを期待している。毎回の議論に積極的に参加できるよう，全員，綿密な事前準備が必要である。
