Course Outline and Method
The emphasis of this program is REACH which stands for Responsibility, Environment, Awareness, Collaboration, and Humanitarianism. The Dual Language stream is comprised of English courses over a year and a half along with courses in another foreign language. The goal of this stream is to prepare students for business and social interactions in which fundamental skills for comprehension as in reading, listening and communication will be needed. The aim of Communication Skills 1 is to provide language structures fundamental to communication in university, work and community life. Classes will consist of collaborative activities either completed using manaba + R or in the classroom. Students will work through various assignments in their textbooks either independently or with classmates. Many assignments make use of multimedia such as video and internet links. Students will also complete presentations which will be performed in front of class. The instructor will provide feedback in the classroom or on manaba + R, depending on the activity. The level of this class is Intermediate (IM).
