This class aims to give a basic understanding of the supply chain management (SCM) and retail business of companies. We will study the structure of distribution systems and the different roles of supply chain members, such as manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers. We will pay special attention to supply chain management innovation by looking at various retail businesses, such as fast fashion and e-commerce, and we will investigate the factors influencing retailing and their place in the supply chain design.
