Course Outline and Method

アメリカの社会、文化などに関する平易な英文の読解を中心に、関連する合衆国憲法などの一次資料や最近のニュース記事などを適宜参照する。合わせて基本英文法をおさらいし、英語の読解力も表現力も、総合的に高める。小テス ト、英作文などの課題については、授業内もしくはLMS (moodle+R)上で講評を行う。

Student Attainment Objectives

1. アメリカの社会、文化、歴史に関連する基礎的な語彙を正しく理解し、運用できる。
2. アメリカの社会、文化に関する１頁程度の英文を読んで正確に理解できる。
3. 基本英文法に習熟し、身近な話題や現代社会・文化について、的確な英語で表現できる。

Recommendations for Private Study

【予習】 （１）テキストの英文(Passage)を読み、Comprehension Check（True-false questions)に取り組む（まず音声を聞き、内容理解を確認するのもよい）。不明な点や要点などをメモしておく。
（２）Grammar Reviewの項を読み、Exercise 1とExercise 2に取り組む。
【復習】
（１）テキストの英文（Passage)を聞きながら再読し、また関連補足資料に触れて、基礎的な語彙に習熟する。
（２）まとめテストに向けて総復習し、正確な英語の運用能力をしっかり身につける。
