授業の概要と方法

This course is designed for those students who have completed "Comprehensive Japanese Ⅰ-1" or equivalent. It aims to strengthen basic grammar and improve skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in Japanese. This course offers students seminar-style classes. Feedback will be given in class.

受講生の到達目標

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to
・have knowledge of basic Japanese sentence structures and apply this knowledge in listening, reading, speaking and writing in Japanese.
・read and write all the Hiragana and Katakana syllables, and approximately 150 Kanji characters in total.
・communicate in routine tasks requiring simple and direct exchange of information on familiar everyday situations and topics in Japanese.
・comprehend passages of Japanese text using vocabulary and grammar introduced in the course
・write a short composition in Japanese.

・Class sessions will be held face-to-face on campus from Lecture 1 to 42.

- Make use of Beyond Borders Plaza (BBP), where books for Japanese language learning
are available to browse. A study advice session is also provided for those who want
assistance from a Japanese language instructor. For further information, please
visit https://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/bbp/


- This course requires that students study about three hours a week outside of class. Out-of-class work includes class preparation, post-class review, and homework/assignments along with any work assigned by course instructors who facilitate learning in the course.
