授業の概要と方法

経済学部生を対象とした必修英語科目の単位回復科目です。
The emphasis of the English program is REACH which stands for Responsibility, Environment, Awareness, Collaboration, and Humanitarianism. In Dual Language course, you are to learn another foreign language in addition to English. You take two English courses in each semester. As the name of this course suggests, this course is designed so that you can develop your reading, listening, writing, speaking skills along with vocabulary and grammar, but the main focus is on developing reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar because listening and speaking skills are covered by Communication Skills 2. Each unit provides reading, writing and grammar activities, and through these activities you can brush up your skills. You are supposed to prepare each class, submit assignment, and take quizzes and exams in accordance with your teacher’s instruction. Your teacher will provide feedback in the physical classroom, on manaba+R, or My English Lab, depending on the activity.

授業実施形態

All classes will be conducted in person.

授業外学習の指示

Students are expected to:
- check announcements from the instructor posted in the Course News.
- come to class prepared.
- work on assignment and submit by the deadline.
- attend real-time classes on Zoom (or other services specified by the instructor).
- ask questions and make comments through the Threaded Discussion Forum on manaba+R.

このクラスは再履修クラスのため、成績評価は原則B・C・Fのみです。

受講および研究に関するアドバイス

Active participation in class activities is required. Participation includes in-class activities, activities via manaba+R (reading course news, turning in assignments, contributing to discussions on the bulletin board), My English Lab and other methods required by the teacher. Please remember you are responsible for any information you miss if you are absent. Keep track of when your assignments are due: no (and late) submission will lower your grade.

Most learning activities are based on the textbook, which will be used in most every class. So make sure to buy one before the first class and bring it to every class. The accompanying online resources will also be used regularly and for extra activities.
