Course Outline and Method

The emphasis of the English program is REACH which stands for Responsibility, Environment, Awareness, Collaboration, and Humanitarianism. The aim of this course is to further develop students’ English skills to face social and business environments. Through discussions and presentations, students will learn to use more formal vocabulary and be required to elaborate on social issues in Japan and other countries.
Classes will consist of collaborative and individual activities either completed in a classroom or using manaba+R. Students will work through various assignments in their textbooks and additional handouts. Many exercises from the textbook will require students to perform presentation skills in the physical classroom. Students will also complete presentations which will be performed in front of class. The instructor will provide feedback in the physical classroom or on manaba+R, depending on the activity. The level of this class is Pre Intermediate (PI).
