授業の概要と方法

This course is an introduction to using a computer as an aid in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) studies and scientific research. Students will perform online video-based exercises to solidify skills introduced in their Reading, Listening, and Communication Skills courses. Students will also be performing Internet-related English activities, in which they will use the Internet as a tool for research, for communication, and for EFL study.Feedback will be provided during class and/or manaba+R.

受講生の到達目標

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

     ・understand English passages using important reading strategies such as predicting, skimming, and scanning.
     ・identify main ideas and details in the English passages.
     ・express a clear argument in agreement or disagreement with the topics, both in speaking and writing.
     ・foster learner autonomy through the use of the online workbook.
     ・further their EFL education beyond the classroom by utilizing online resources.

受講および研究に関するアドバイス

(1)Attendance of at least 10 sessions is required to pass this course./10回以上の出席を単位取得要件とします。
(2)In the first class, your instructor will explain how to register and use the online workbook. Please make sure to attend ./初回授業でオンラインワークブックの登録と使用方法を説明します。必ず参加してください。
(3) If instructed by your teacher, please bring wired earphones. They can be purchased at a 100-yen shop./教員から指示があった場合、有線（ワイヤード）イヤホンを持参してください。イヤホンは100円ショップでも購入できます。
(4) In December, you will take the online TOEIC® Listening & Reading IP Test outside class. Points will be allocated as follows:+5 for scores of 500+ (IL level);-5 for non-participation or scores below 200. No points will be added if cheating or dishonesty is detected ./12月にTOEIC®Listening &Reading IPテスト（オンライン） を授業外で受験します。テストスコアに基づき、秋学期履修中の各英語科目の平常点に次のとおり加点・減点を行います。一度でも不正行為等があった場合は加点はありません。5点加点: 500点以上(ILレベル）; 5点減点：不受験の場合、および、スコアが200点未満だった場合。
Notes:
・No additional or deducted points will be applied to courses taken for grade restoration./原級復帰で履修中の科目での加点や減点はありませ
  ん。
・Test scores will be partially used as reference materials to determine the level of English courses to be taken in the following academic year./テストスコアを次回生で履修する英語科目のレベル判定の参考資料の一部として使用します。
