Course Outline and Method

この授業では、政治、経済、文化、社会、環境、科学、スポーツなど、様々なジャンルの英語ニュースを題材に取り上げます。英語ニュースの読解を通して、①英語力を向上させることと、②時事的な諸問題について考える力を養うことが、この授業の大きな狙いです。英語ニュースの「精読」を中心に、リスニングやボキャブラリードリルなど、様々な取り組みを行います。各々のニュース記事の正確で十分な理解をもとに、英語ニュースの特徴を知り、リスニング力を鍛え、現代社会に対する視野を広げましょう。

Student Attainment Objectives

・英語ニュースの記事を、辞書を使わずに、大体の内容を理解することができる。
・英語ニュースの記事を、辞書を使って、細部まで正確に理解することができる。
・内容を把握したニュース記事であれば、テキストを見ずに、聞いて理解することができる。
・現代社会に関する視野が広がり、自分の考えを展開することができる。

Class Format

【BCPレベル1〜2の場合】
・この授業は全授業回を対面で実施します。ただし第1回授業は、教室での対面に加えZoomライブ配信も行います。
・授業詳細については、担当教員が授業科目の manaba+Rで知らせます。
・新型コロナウィルスに関わり、既往症や基礎疾患等により対面授業に出席できない方は、あらかじめ担当教員に申請してください。Zoomライブで授業に出席できるようにします。担当教員の判断により、あわせてZoomクラウド録画を配信する場合もあります。

【BCPレベル3〜4の場合】
・すべての授業をメディア（Zoomライブ配信が基本）を利用して実施します。
