Course Outline and Method

With a focus on recycling, reusing and sharing, we will look at a few companies and what they are doing to help the environment and being sustainable.
While we examine each company, we will work on tasks of writing emails to inquire, to reply to questions, to organize some fictional projects in which some fictional arrangements and proposals will be made. Many emails will be written in the classroom on paper without internet help so that you become more familiar with such writing and not simply translating. There will be some reading of emails in a group to learn from each other.
There will be discussions positing alternative ideas for our own communities and some role-playing to practice disagreement, negotiating and complaints. There will be formal and informal evaluations of the discussions. Through this class, you will become familiar with the sharing economy and closing the loop.

+R授業 will be in Weeks 2-4
