Course Outline and Method

 時事英語入門テキストを用いて生きた英語を学び、広い視野を養う国内外の多分野にわたる記事で多様化する世界の今を学びます。重要語彙・表現や文法、背景知識、英文記事の特徴をバラエティに富んだ練習問題に触れ，時事問題について慣れてほしい。
授業は対面で行う。授業は，前半教員が主導する形式だが，後半は小グループにて学生が授業を主導する形式で行う。各テーマにおけるディスカッションも行う。ペアあるいはグループ単位でのプレゼンテーションを行い，まとめをする。さらに，テーマ関連の論文を共有して読む。事前の論点の提示と討論および事後の感想は掲示板に共有するのため，manaba+R を活用する。

Class Format

授業は，基本的に対面で行うこととする。試験などの場合は，直接受講者に授業内に説明をする。

Recommendations for Private Study

対面で行う本授業は、グループ活動に基づく応用的な課題に取り組むものであり、manaba+R に記した課題を事前に予習した上で臨むことを前提としている。事前課題に取り組んでいなければ授業について行けず、また他のグループ員に迷惑をかけることになるので 必ず毎週manaba+R を常に参照して準備すること。
