In EIS II, students engage in an active learning process through an integrated approach using materials related to the field of international relations. Students will carry out a variety of listening activities, speaking tasks, and exercises to enhance their English comprehension and fluency. Students will develop listening comprehension skill by listening to dialogues, conversations, lectures, or other spoken material and answering questions or completing exercises to demonstrate understanding. Students will develop their abilities to express themselves orally in English through role-plays, discussions, presentations, and other interactive activities. Formative evaluation is performed through class participation, including small quizzes and assignments as well as one or more essays, papers, and presentations, based on a rubric that targets each skill.

Student Attainment Objectives

1. Students will acquire listening skills including the ability to listen to lectures and take notes. They will also develop academic speaking skills through tasks such as presentations, discussions, and debates.
2. Students will be able to listen to English language materials and understand the gist of the materials, the structure of the arguments, and sentences that support these arguments.
3. Students will be able to have discussions and give speeches and presentations logically and persuasively in verbal and non-verbal communication.
