授業の概要と方法

　世界中の「知識人」に読まれているという新聞、The Guardian, The New York Timesから、そして身近な日本の出来事を扱った The Japan Timesから、大学生用に厳選された記事を読みます。扱われている記事のテーマは社会、文化、政治経済、教育、環境、スポーツ、テクノロジーなど多岐にわたっています。
　近年、世界で起こっていることを、知っていることも知らなかったことも英語で確認するだけではなく、批判的に読むことを通じて、客観的に物事をとらえ、自身の考えをもつということを大切にしたいと思います。

受講生の到達目標

1. 世界で起こっているさまざまな出来事への視野を広げることができる。
2. 批判的に考えることができる。
3. 今日的な様々な分野の問題に関する英語の語彙を増やすことができる。
