Course Outline and Method

アメリカの生徒等を念頭にブラウン大学歴史学部が作成した社会科教材シリーズThe Choices Programを用い、貿易と国際経済システムについて英語で学ぶ。
毎回の授業では、担当教員が文構造などを解説するとともに、受講生からの質問に答える。
Study Guide、Graphic Organizerなどの課題については、授業内もしくはmanaba＋R上で講評を行う。

Student Attainment Objectives

1. 貿易と経済に関する、またグローバリゼーションや金融、財政、経済的不平等などに関わる今日的課題を考察するうえでも重要な用語・概念を英語で理解できる。
2. 一般的な新聞記事の英文と同等かやや易しいレベルの、米国の生徒向けに書かれた英文を読んで正しく理解できる。

Class Format

BCP停止の場合は、BCPレベル0～2の記載どおりに授業が行われます。

【BCPレベル1〜2の場合】
・すべての授業を対面授業で実施する。

あわせて、担当教員の指示に従ってmanaba+R掲示板スレッドでも速やかに連絡すること。担当教員の判断によりメディア（Zoomライブ、ビデオカメラ オン）を利用した配慮を実施する場合がある。
【BCPレベル3〜4の場合】
・すべての授業をメディアを用いた授業（Zoomライブ）にて実施する。

Zoom接続方法の詳細は「英語で学ぶ社会・文化（中級）(JC)」のmanaba＋R「コースニュース」または「コンテンツ（教材）」で指示する。

Recommendations for Private Study

授業前：テキストの指定個所を黙読し、理解に努める（見出しの〈問い〉に対する答えを探すつもりで）。必要に応じて英英辞典・英和辞典を使用すること。Study Guideに記入する。質問があれば、音声メモなどに録音しておく（日本語でも可）。
授業後：Vocabulary Logに記入する（単語4〜5つ × 週2回を目安に）。Study Guideを完成させる。各単元末までに、指示された内容でミニレポートを作成する。
必須ではないが、教科書（電子版）に埋め込まれたショートビデオ（英語字幕オンオフ可）を視聴するのもよい。
