International migration is one of the keys to understanding the nature and dynamics of contemporary international society. Human mobility encompasses migratory labor, refugees, transnational elites, family and marriage migrants, foreign students, and many forms of visitors. Migration continues to dominate 21st-century political debates. This course examines the determinants of migration, as well as the social, economic, and political consequences for both sending and receiving countries. This lecture covers fundamental theories, history, and facts on modern international migration. I cover migration theory, migration policies, the formation of ethnic minorities, transnationalism, and current migration challenges. We'll also talk about enormous migration in the late nineteenth century, the rise of "managed" migration in the twentieth century, and modern migration.
This course has three components: a) a lecture (major topics and theoretical framework), and b) student presentations (case studies) and c) group dicsussion

Keywords: theories, ethnicity, minority, labor market, undocumented migration, refugees, climate change, inequality, neoliberalism
