This course will be conducted in English, however, I will do my best to accommodate inquiries in Japanese.

授業の概要と方法

読む・聞く・書く・話すという４技能を統合したアクティブ・ラーニングを通じて、これまでに身につけた英語コミュニケーション力をさらに伸ばすとともに、大学生らしく主体的に英語を学び、また英語を駆使して学ぶ、自立した学習者となる。より具体的には、「受講生の到達目標」に記載されたスキルに習熟する。
小テストや授業内レポート・エッセイなどの課題については、授業内もしくはmanaba＋R上で講評を行う。

受講生の到達目標

(1)聞くこと
・はっきりとなじみのある発音で話されれば、大学やアルバイトなど普段の日常生活にかかわる話題の大要と具体的事実を理解することができる。
・ゆっくりはっきりと話していれば、身近な話題についてのTV番組の要点をつかむことができる。
(2)読むこと
・単刀直入に事実を伝える内容であれば、社会問題や自分の興味関心がある事柄に関するテクストを、まずまず間に合う程度に理解することができる。
・論の展開をはっきり示す目印となる語句があれば、主要な結論を把握することができる。
(3)やり取り・話し合い
・身近な話題についての会話なら、準備なしに参加できる。自分の考えを表明したり、（家族、趣味、アルバイト、旅行、文化行事など）身近な話題や自分の関心事、よく知っている事柄に関する情報を交換したりすることができる。
(4)話すこと
・意見、計画、行動について、手短に理由を述べたり説明することができる。
(5)書くこと
・興味関心事であれば、身近な主題のあれこれについて、短い要素をひとつの流れに結びつけることによって、簡潔ながらも結束性のあるテクストを書くことができる。

授業実施形態

【BCPレベル1〜2の場合】
・この授業は全授業回を対面で実施します。
・授業詳細については、担当教員が授業科目の manaba+Rで知らせます。
・新型コロナウィルスに関わり、既往症や基礎疾患等により対面授業に出席できない方は、あらかじめ担当教員に申請してください。Zoomライブで授業に出席できるようにします。担当教員の判断により、あわせてZoomクラウド録画を配信する場合もあります。

【BCPレベル3〜4の場合】
・すべての授業をメディア（Zoomライブ配信が基本）を利用して実施します。
・授業詳細については、担当教員が授業科目の manaba+R で知らせます。

授業外学習の指示

Regardless of how the classes are presented, you should keep up with all the assignments and tests. To do this you need to set aside between one and two hours for each lesson at home. You will need an English/Japanese dictionary and a notebook to successfully do the homework assignments. Please bring them with you when you come to classes. The dictionaries can be electronic.
