Course Outline and Method

【授業の概要】
This course helps students further develop the skills needed to plan, research and write a short research paper. Depending on the class teacher’s syllabus, students will complete either one or two academic writing assignments (either one longer paper of 1500-2000 words, or two shorter papers of 750-1000 words each). These research papers should be put through multiple drafts and finished to a high standard, with a properly formatted cover sheet and APA-style citations and references.
Students will develop a range of skills, including the ability to:
- format a research paper using APA style
- integrate direct quotations into their writing
- paraphrase source material to avoid an overreliance on quotations
- write an abstract outlining the main ideas of a paper
