Course Outline and Method

政策科学の専門科目の理解を深めるため、導入的な日本語文献を学習する。この授業では、政策科学に関する理解を深めるとともに、より専門的な文法、語彙、表現、漢字を習得することを目的とする。

　この授業では、日本の人口減少と社会保障に関するテキストを使用する。日本の社会保障は雇用の安定と人口増加のもとで発展してきたが、1990年代以降の経済低迷により、家族と雇用のあり方は激変し、社会的孤立などの問題が浮上した。この授業では、日本の社会保障制度について、その仕組みや現状の課題を学ぶとともに、変容する日本社会における家族の変化や孤立が引き起こす問題について考察する。
　日本は世界一高齢化が進んでおり、それに伴う代表的な問題として、社会保障の費用膨張という課題がある。今後、多くの国々で高齢化が進んでいくが、日本の社会保障制度に生じている問題を学ぶことで、他国の社会保障に関わる政策を考える上でも役立つと考えられる。

テキストを用いるので、意味がわからない語彙は辞典を使って調べてくること。出席と授業への積極的な取り組みを重視する。
Basically, these courses are designed for those whose designated level is higher than Proficient level. In these courses,
students read literature related to Policy Science written in Japanese. Upon registering for these courses, please read the syllabus carefully
to make sure if the expected proficiency level suits you. Students who have not completed "Elementary 2" courses are not allowed to take these courses.
※Student who was approved to be in "Proficient" level or a native Japanese speaker upon enrollement may also take these courses.
