Course Outline and Method

本科目は、アメリカ合衆国のラトガーズ大学において、アメリカ合衆国の特徴について、種々様々な学術的観点から考察する。
文化、社会、人種、歴史、文明、戦争、衝突、国際関係、宗教、技術、貿易、経済など多岐に亘るキーワードを取り上げ、同国が固有に抱える問題とともに、その問題に対する学問的アプローチ方法についても検討し、議論する。本科目で取り上げた国や地域を一つの特徴的なケースとして理解することで、世界を考察し分析するための独自の視野を涵養することを目指す。

具体的には、「多様な視点から見るアジア太平洋の国際関係」をテーマとして、アメリカ・ラトガーズ大学にてアメリカの特徴について、種々様々な学術的観点から考察する。同大学の学生と日米合同ゼミナールを開催し、文化、社会、人種、歴史、文明、国際関係、宗教、エネルギー、技術、貿易、経済など多岐に亘るキーワードを取り上げ、議論する。

Student Attainment Objectives

・現地学生との共修を通じて、日米との国際関係を理解する。
・さらに、日米関係にとどまらず、アジア太平洋の国際関係についても理解を深める。
