Course Outline and Method

本授業は、主として英語熟達度の中級者を対象として、音声英語に慣れる機会を提供するものです。英語のリスニング活動を中心にして、さまざまなトピックに即した表現を理解するための練習を行います。テキストが扱っているトピックは、大学生にふさわしいような学際的なものです。重要な発音やストレス、アクセントについても学びながら、それぞれのトピックを理解するのに必要な語彙や表現の習得に努めます。同時に、ペア・ワークなどを通して、自らの考えを客観的・論理的に発信していく活動も行います。
小テストや授業内レポート・エッセイなどの課題については、授業内もしくはmanaba＋R上で講評を行ないます。

Student Attainment Objectives

受講生は、
・社会的・学術的なトピッについて交わされる基本的な会話や説明文を音声を通じて理解できるようになる
・英語特有の発音やリズムに慣れ、それらを聞き分け、また自らも産出できるようになる
・トピックに関連する基本的な語彙や表現を身につける
・いくつかのトピックに関して、自分の考えを平易な英語を用いて説明できるようになる
ことを目標とします。
