授業の概要と方法

This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental academic research skills needed to be successful in their studies of policy science. The course specifically focuses on how to write a research proposal, as well as create a related academic PP presentation for the On-site Field Research Project they will join in their 2nd semester. The basic tools of analytical reasoning, elementary methods of argument composition and analysis will be covered. This course introduces students to basic field research methodology, research proposal writing, and academic presentation strategies. The course touches upon critical and creative thinking strategies, which will help students become more perceptive readers and listeners, more persuasive writers and presenters, and more effective researchers.

• basic understanding of key social science theories and philosophies
• basic competency in academic discussion and debate; critical thinking
• academic writing and presentation skills
• increased awareness and understanding of contemporary regional/global policy science related issues

14 classes Face to Face, in principle.

However, media classes (either live-streamed classes or on-demand classes) may be held when necessary.
