English III is an advanced class of English Ⅰ: students will be engaged in an active learning
process through an integrated approach to the four skills with a particular emphasis on reading
skills. Students can choose from specified courses in the area of international studies such as
environmental issues, readings in history, area studies, social linguistics, intercultural
communication or other topics. Students will read various types of texts and analyze the topics
from various perspectives for comprehensive evaluation. Formative evaluation is performed
through class participation, including small quizzes and assignments as well as one or more
essays, papers, and presentations, based on a rubric that targets each skill
