Public policy and gender

The course focuses on how to critically analyze policy with the goal of understanding the dynamics of systemic inequalities and how to mitigate them. The course starts with an examination of society and policy, then major contributions of feminist theories to the analysis of politics, equality, human rights and sustainability. Finally we study policy analysis frameworks and apply them to a variety of case study policy examples including both gender specific and non-gender specific issues and policies.
