【授業の概要】
Media English I: Broadcast Media
This course aims to develop students' ability to comprehend and respond critically to the English language media. Instructors use authentic (or authentic-like) items from TV and/or radio news to develop students' listening comprehension skills.

【授業の方法】
本科目は大学設置基準および立命館大学産業社会学部則において、区分を面接授業とする。詳細な実施方法については、manaba+Rのコースニュース、「授業スケジュール」および「授業実施形態」欄を確認のこと。

While providing students with a knowledge of journalistic English, the course will also help develop the ability to:
- understand the gist of a news report
- extract factual information from a news report
- distinguish between fact & opinion
- follow the sequence of reported events
- make a brief oral/written summary of a news item
- recognize characteristic features of broadcast news English

	Orientation – self-introductions; introduction of course materials (textbook etc.); explanation of attainment objectives, grading criteria etc.

・この授業の実施形態は、manaba+Rのコースにて教員から公開されるクラスシラバスに明示されます。
・授業詳細については、授業科目のmanaba＋R でお知らせします。
・新型コロナウィルスに関わり、以下の配慮要件に該当することにより対面授業に出席できない受講生は、あらかじめ担当教員に申請してください。必要に応じて、ライブ配信型またはオンデマンド型で行います。申請方法は所定の「新型コロナウイルスに関わる対面授業配慮申請書」を作成し、授業担当者にメール送信してください。申請締切は春学期は4月12日、秋学期は9月30日です。締切日以降に新たに配慮要件に該当した場合は、事情を添えて授業担当者に申し出てください。
「新型コロナウイルスに関わる対面授業配慮申請書」は、学び支援サイト「授業関連」▶「公欠・授業配慮」ページ内からダウンロード可能です。

【BCP レベル3～4 の場合】
・すべての授業をメディア（ライブ配信またはオンデマンド型）を利用して実施します。
・授業方法の詳細は、授業科目のmanaba＋R でお知らせします。

【配慮要件】
以下の要件に該当する学生に対しては、ライブ配信型またはオンデマンド型での配慮を行う。
　①基礎疾患や持病がある等、感染した場合に重症化するリスク（呼吸器疾患、糖尿病、心不全等の国が定める基礎疾患を有する場合）の高い学生
　②基礎疾患や持病がある等、感染した場合に重症化するリスク（呼吸器疾患、糖尿病、心不全等の国が定める基礎疾患を有する場合）の高い同居家族がいる学生
　③海外との往来制限により、学生本人が渡日・入国できない場合

【備考】
※「授業スケジュール」は、BCPレベル1～2を想定して記載している。変更があった際は別途manaba+Rに周知を行う。
※受講登録の結果によっては、出席調整またはメディアを利用した授業に切替えを行う場合がある。
※オンデマンド型授業の場合、授業の終了後、掲示板等で質疑応答等の機会を設け、授業の当日もしくは翌日午前中をめどに回答や解説を返信する。

また自学自習の一つとして、BBP（Beyond Borders Plaza）の利用を推奨する。

Plagiarism is never allowed. Stealing from reference literature or other materials, direct copying of reports and essays that another person wrote, and/or copying from the Internet is not acceptable. Plagiarism is a clear violation to the right of the copyright holder, and RU will take strict disciplinary action for serious offenses.
言うまでもないことですが、盗用・盗作は許されません。参考文献やその他の参考となる資料から行なうことはもちろんのこと、友人等が作成したレポート・小論文の盗用・盗作・書き写しをしたり、インターネットからコピー・ペーストしたりすることも許されません。盗用・盗作行為は、著作権者に対する明らかな権利の侵害となるため、本学では悪質なものについて、懲戒の対象としています。

Students should purchase the required textbook from the Co-op (Seikyo) bookstore before the first class. Details of the textbook can be found on manaba+R. 第１回の授業までに自分のクラスを確認し、指定されているテキストを生協で購入して、第１回の授業に必ず持ってくること。 なお指定教科書は、manaba+R　▶「産業社会学部生のページ」▶「産業社会学部の履修」<外国語科目：教科書>に掲載しています。
